I am Barbara, married to my best friend, Mr. Leon Yoder. We will be having our 20th anniversary June 9th 2025…WHAT!!! Where have all these years gone!? What am I doing or have I done in my life that’s gonna reach eternity? uhh….just so many things to ponder in life right now! Life just seems to slip through the cracks and vanish into thin air. [James 4:14 – ….you are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.] But one thing is certain. Every human being needs to know that we are not accidents. We are created by God with a specific purpose in mind. {Ephesians 2:10 says, For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.}…(I will emphasize more on these verses in other posts) .
We have two beautiful daughters, Leila Kate and Kylie Grace. Leila is 18 and Kylie is 16 ….I am so thankful for our two daughters. They help me so much around the house. Leila loves to cook and bake, she takes over the kitchen duties. While Kylie is still in high school. She does her schooling all online, so she’s at home most of the time working on that. Kylie also has a part time babysitting job. Leila has a part time babysitting job and cleans a house on Thursdays. I think it’s so important that they get out of the house every once in awhile. Just to socialize with other people. They both love kids! …and then theirs Bear! Our toy poodle. Can’t forget him! He’s kinda the life of the party. Usually by my side if I’m at home.
We are originally from Holmes County Ohio. Leon and I both grew up amish. [I’m so thankful for my heritage.] We got married when we were amish, but left that culture a couple years later. We moved to North Carolina in 2013, where we still live.
I do live a different life than most people. When I was 16 years old I was in a car accident that left me a partial quadriplegia. I have been on a wheelchair ever since. I married the guy that was driving when the accident happened. We got married 5 years later and had 2 daughters. Life changed drastically…….but God!! ……This is the reason for starting a blog. It’s been almost 25 years. My hubby finally convinced me to share my story. I want to take you along as we do life. I don’t know how all this is going to look. I am unsure about what it will be. However, I will be real and honest. I won’t hide the good or the difficulties of life. We all walk through the valleys and experience the mountain tops. It’s LIFE! I will also talk about my Heavenly Father, of whom is my best friend!! Jesus his son, who died for my sins and took the stripes on His back for my healing… The Holy Spirit talks to me. He guides and directs every step I take in life. He comforts me with God’s promises and… oohh the inheritance we received in Christ! [” Ephesians 2: 6-7 …”God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”] …and so much more! I want this to be a place where you can find HOPE. I want to give encouragement that will help you in your own personal walk.
TO BE CONTINUED………
